Genshin Impact is an action RPG set in the lands of Teyvat. The scale of the game is massive, and it is comprised of many beautiful locations. The open world is vast and features hundreds and thousands of combat encounters.

These combat encounters feature bright attacks and a large number of effect particles which put a considerable strain on your graphics card. This is primarily why many machines seem to struggle when it comes to running the game smoothly.

This guide will discuss different methods to improve your experience and help you choose the optimal settings for stable and high frame rates.

Genshin Impact System Requirements

While Genshin Impact runs well on most smartphones, it is not as easily playable on PC. The following are the recommended as well as the minimum system requirements that your PC should meet in order to run the game at a smooth 60 FPS.

Recommended Configuration

  • OS – Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 8.1 64 bit, or Windows 10 64 bit
  • Processor – Intel Core i7/AMD Ryzen 7/Equivalant or better
  • Memory – 16GB RAM
  • Graphics – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and better
  • DirectX Version 11
  • Storage – 40GB hard drive space

If your PC specs are anywhere near what’s listed above, then you should nothing to worry about as some light tweaking will get you smooth 60 FPS even on the higher settings.

Minimum Configuration

  • OS – Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 8.1 64 bit, or Windows 10 64 bit
  • Processor – Intel Core i5 equivalent (AMD Ryzen 5) or better
  • Memory – 8GB RAM
  • Graphics – NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030/Equivalent or better
  • DirectX Version 11
  • Storage – 40GB hard drive space

However, there is still hope even if you don’t exactly fall on these requirements.

With the help of some changes in settings, machines that only have 4GB of RAM available might be able to run the game at a respectable 30 FPS.

As you can see, even if you do choose to lower the graphics settings, the game still looks vibrant while also offering you smooth 30/60 FPS gameplay on a cheaper machine. Genshin Impact is a mobile game at heart so it makes sense even for lower-end PCs to be able to keep up.

Recommended Graphic Settings For Low-End PCs

It goes without saying that lowering Genshin Impact’s graphic settings will yield the most significant improvement to your performance. With that said, it’s best to go even lower than the lowest given Graphics Quality preset in order to achieve the maximum possible FPS rendered.

PC Tweaks to Run Genshin Impact Smoothly

If you’ve already minimized your graphic settings and still want to squeeze out as much FPS as possible out of your rig, then these minor tweaks will be able to help.

Adjusting Launch Configuration

  1. Hold shift and double-click on the game icon on your desktop. Keep shift held and click on the launch button. It will take a while but a small window should pop up on your screen now.
  2. Change the window settings as shown here:
  1. Make sure to uncheck the Windowed option and remember, the lower the resolution you keep the smoother the game will run.

Play at a Low Fullscreen Resolution

  1. Check the Windowed option from the launch settings
  2. Lower the resolution in-game to a point that you’re satisfied with. Although the worst looking out of all the options available, this method is fast and you can once again find the resolution for the appropriate FPS ratio for you.
  3. Press ALT + Enter to forcefully change the game to fullscreen mode in that same resolution.

Stay Up to Date

  1. Make sure you’re running the latest version of the game to avoid bugs and other performance-related issues.
  2. Make sure your graphics drivers are all up to date
