Are you looking to get into streaming but are worried about not having enough money to purchase all the accessories you need to get started? Well the truth is you don’t need to spend 1000s of dollars to get a high quality stream.

In this article we are going to take a look at the best possible streaming setup we can create in 2022 with only $100. Of course this will not include your PC or Console as chances are you already have that sorted.

When it comes to having a high quality stream on a budget there is a few things we need to consider; Microphone, Camera/Webcam and Lighting.

If you want to stream from a console you will also need a capture card. We won’t be including that in todays budget but we will recommend a budget graphics card to use if you’re a console gamer.

The Best Streaming Setup Under $100

Audio – Best Microphone Under $40

Audio is by far the most important aspect of your stream. You can get away with having a dodgy webcam and streaming in 720p but if your audio sucks viewers will drop off fast.

We are dedicating half of the budget to the microphone as we know this will have the biggest impact on the stream.

Aokeo USB Microphone & Kit

For our choice of microphone I have went with the Aokeo USB microphone kit. Not only do you get a pretty good microphone for the price, you also get a boom arm and shock mount which is great for streaming.

This allows you to easily move around your microphone while gaming and the shock mount helps to absorb some of those vibrations from slamming your desk in rage.

Compared to other mics in the Sub $50 range this microphone comes in as an all round value play especially with the added accessories which most other mics do not come with.

Microphone Features
  • USB Microphone
  • Comes With Pop Filter, Boom Arm, Shock Mount & Condensor Microphone
  • Works on Mac & PC
  • 192kHz/24bit sampling rate
  • Noise Reduction

This microphone is plug and play meaning you can just plug it in and instantly get on stream or hop on discord with new and improved audio. The microphone itself has a sturdy build quality and feels like a premium mic rather than a budget friendly alternative.

While you won’t get the audio quality of something like a Shure SM7B you also don’t have to pay 10x the price. If you’re looking a microphone as well as other streaming accessories for under $100 this is our pick.

Video – Best Budget Webcam Under $30

When it comes to streaming we definitely recommend having a camera to add a more polished feel to your stream. It allows you to interact with your audience in a more intimate way building a stronger connection with them. You’ll also find that a lot of viewers won’t even click on a stream if it doesn’t have a face cam.

So do you have to fork out thousands on a mirrorless DSLR? NO! Believe it or not our recommended web cam comes in cheaper than the microphone setup.

You could also skip the Webcam altogether and use your iPhone as a streaming webcam which yields some pretty good results.

Suirui – 1080p Webcam For Streaming

This little webcam here is a great first camera for a budget streaming setup. For the price it’s quality looks great.

If you plan on mainly using the webcam for a face cam overlay on your stream then this is more than enough.

This webcam includes a 90 degree Wide angle lens and records in 1080p. Compared to other similar webcams in this price bracket the Suirui stands out as one of the best especially when paired with some good lighting.

Webcam Features

  • 1080p Resolution
  • Connects via USB
  • Comes with a Safety Privacy Cover
  • Noise Reduction Microphone
  • Clips onto monitor or can be used on a tripod

If you just want to get up and running under $100 with a webcam that “Gets the job done” then this is the perfect webcam to go for.

Lighting – Best Budget Lighting For Streamers Under $40

If you’re just starting out as a streamer you may not realise how important lighting is to getting an amazing image from your webcam. Adding some simple lights to your setup can transform a terrible looking webcam to a great looking one.

Let’s take a look at an affordable lighting setup we can purchase under $40.

UBeesize Video Lighting Kit

This lighting kit pushes us about $10 over our budget but I think its worth it for most people as we get two LED Lights we can use to improve the quality of our camera image. They also come with light stands meaning you can easily position them in your streaming setup.

You can position both of these lights in your setup to fully light your face giving you great quality video from your webcam.

UBeesize Video Lighting Kit Features
  • Adjustable brightness from 10-100%
  • Comes with 5 color filters
  • Comes with 51″ Adjustable Tripod
  • Can be used with USB Power
  • Equipped with ball head for adjustability

Lights can get really expensive once you start looking into a more high end setup however these are a good place to get started with lighting on a budget.

Optional Extras To Add To Your Setup

If you have a little extra cash left over there is another item that you may want to add to your shopping list. This by no means a must buy but they can enhance the quality of your stream. Feel free to check them out.

Number Pad as A Budget Stream Deck

Any number pad will work for this. Stream decks can be expensive and they’re essentially just a glorified numpad. We have chosen a reasonably priced wireless numpad for this budget setup.

You can program any macro to the keys on the numpad to control aspects of your stream.

This makes doing stuff like switching scenes, playing sound clips or muting your mic super easy while on stream.

Wrapping Up The $100 Budget Streaming Setup

Hopefully you can now get your stream up and running on a shoestring budget. Even though we didn’t spend much on this setup it is more than enough to get you started and be successful with your stream. After all it’s not about the equipment you are using, it’s about the quality of your content. Get out there and get streaming with your new setup. Feel free to let us know if there is anything you think we should add to this budget setup.
