Yes, Twitch subs renew automatically every month unless otherwise stated when purchasing. You will be charged every month until you decide to cancel your sub with the streamer. However if you are gifted a sub or have used Prime Gaming to subscribe then your sub will not renew and you will not be charged.

If you want to ensure that your subscriptions does not auto-renew you will need the stop your Subscription before the billing date. Stopping a subscription will not end your benefits immediately. You will get your subscription benefits for a full 30 days after purchase.

How To Stop A Twitch Sub From Auto Renewing

If you have decided you do not want to subscribe to a streamer anymore follow the guide below to cancel your subscription.

  1. Open Twitch.tv and click on your profile picture in the top right hand corned
  2. From the drop down click on Subscriptions.
  1. You will now be in your subscription management tab, where you can view all of your active subscriptions.
  2. To cancel a subscription, click on the settings cog in the top right of the streamer you want to cancel.
  3. Click on don’t renew subscription
  1. A form will then pop up asking you why you are cancelling your Subscription. It doesn’t matter what you choose here. Pick an option and then click on the “Don’t renew subscription” at the bottom. If you don’t click this your subscription will not cancel.

Once you have clicked on the don’t renew subscription button you are finished. You will not be billed for a subscription to that streamer anymore. You will still get the benefits of being a subscriber until a full month runs out.

You will be able to see at the bottom of the form how long you have before your Twitch subscription will run out.

How To Cancel A Twitch Subscription On iPhone

Unfortunately there is no way to cancel a subscription directly from the iPhone app. It’s a little annoying and is likely a way to keep people subscribed for longer. However there is still a way to cancel your Subscription through Safari on your iPhone.

  1. Open Safari on your iPhone and go to Twitch.tv
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Click on your profile picture in the top right
  4. From the drop down click on subscriptions
  5. Here you will see your active subscriptions
  6. Click on the one that you want to cancel and select “Don’t Renew”
  7. You will now not be charged anymore for your subscription

You will still keep the benefits of being a subscriber until your full Month is up.

How To Cancel A Twitch Subscription On Android

Luckily unlike iPhone we can cancel subscriptions directly in the app on Android. To do this follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Twitch app on your device
  2. Navigate to the streamer that you want to unsubscribe from
  3. Click on the “Subscribed” button
  4. You will now see an option to “Cancel Subscription”
  5. Click on “Cancel Subscription” to cancel your sub

You may not see the option to cancel subscription if you did not subscribe through the mobile app. If that is the case you will need to use your phones browser or a desktop to cancel your subscription.

Do Twitch Prime Subs Automatically Renew?

No, a Twitch Prime sub will not automatically renew every month. If you want the same streamer to get your Twitch Prime sub every month you will have to do it manually. Every 30 days your Twitch Prime will renew and you will be able to use it on any stream you want.

Do Gifted Subs Automatically Renew On Twitch?

No, If you are lucky enough to receive a gifted sub on Twitch you will not be charged at the end of the month. Gifted subs will last for 30 days. If you want to stay subscribed after the 30 days you will have to manually subscribe again.

Yes, mobile subs on Twitch will auto-renew. Up until late 2021 Twitch subs on IOS did not auto renew but this has now been updated and IOS subs will also auto renew. It’s usually not worth subbing at Tier 2 or 3 unless you just want to support the streamer however it will give you access to some extra emotes in the chat.

Twitch subs last for 30 days from the minute you start the Subscription. If you decide to turn off auto renew you will lose your benefits after 30 days. Gifted, Prime and normal subscriptions all last for 30 days.
