Kyedae’s current relationship is one straight out of a fairytale. Her relationship with TenZ was her first. TenZ and Kyedae met at high school, where she revealed she had a massive crush on TenZ. She would go to his house like a self-proclaimed “Psycho” because TenZ would never reply to her text messages.
On one fateful evening, she knocked on his front door and invited him for dinner, to which he said yes. They went with a bunch of TenZ’s friends and ended up playing VR together in his room. Things snowballed from there on out, with the hangouts getting more intimate than the previous.
The chemistry was palpable, and they would hang out every day. Eventually, TenZ would pop the question, “Will you officially be my girlfriend?” to which she said yes when they were lying on a couch together.
Kyedae revealed that when she knew TenZ, she had no idea about the Twitch ecosystem or that TenZ was even a streamer or even the best Valorant player at the time. Although the exact date they moved in together is unknown, they both decided to move in together at the age of 18.
Kyedae and TenZ relationship debuted publicly in 2020, where she would make occasional cameos in TenZ’s steam. This intrigued viewers, and they asked her to start streaming. She was an immediate hit.
Her snarky attitude and sarcastic humor were a home run with the Twitch community. This garnered her 1.9 million followers, and every consequent stream of hers doubled in view count.
She took a hiatus since she said that balancing her pre-med degree and streaming at the same time was taking a toll on her mental health. She was weighing up her options but chose to keep streaming and studying at the same time at the University of British Columbia. A testament to her iron-clad work ethic.
Kyedae and TenZ are, on paper, the perfect couple, so it wasn’t surprising that they revealed that they got engaged at 20 years old on the 29th of December 2021. They later revealed that they had been engaged secretly for the past eight months to avoid public scrutiny. They were met with unwavering support, with the likes of streamers like xQc congratulating them.
They revealed the news in the tweet, “Happy 3-year anniversary to the love of my life. It’s crazy how fast time flies when you’re enjoying life. Btw we have been engaged [for] 8 months but have kept it a secret until now.”
The couple is slated to get married by next year, to which Kyedae revealed that the proposal was surprisingly awkward and said, “Tyson (TenZ) fumbled the box and dropped it, I’m pretty sure. It just looks really awkward, and I started laughing”. A really heartwarming sequence of events.
TenZ and Kyedae’s relationship isn’t slowing down any time soon, and the same can be said for their Twitch careers. The two are the very definition of “love at first sight,” and we can only wish them well in their future endeavors.
