How Does Ludwig Make Money?

Twitch

Subs – Twitch Subs are split between the streamer and Twitch. New streamers are in a Tier 1 bracket and will get a 50/50 split making their subs worth $2.50. Once a streamer is pulling in enough views 1000+ per month they can re-negotiate their split to either a 60/40 split (Tier 2) or 70/30 (Tier 3) if they are really popular.

Bits -For every bit a streamer receives they get $0.01.

Ads – When streamers run ads on Twitch they make around $10-20 CPM depending on their contracts. This means they earn $10-20 per 1000 viewers on the stream when the ad runs.

How Much Does Ludwig Make Per Month On Twitch?

Ludwig makes approximately $168,793 per month directly from Twitch. This is broken down by the following:

Screengrab from Twitchtracker.com

Subs – Ludwig has 30,261 active subscribers as of August 2021 according to Twitchtracker. This means he is earning approximately $3.50 x 30,261 = $105,913.5 from Twitch subs monthly as he is likely to have a 70/30 split with Twitch.

Ads – Ludwig streamed for 126 hours last month with an average viewership of 19,000 viewers. If he runs an ad twice an hour at a $10 CPM he would make 252 x 10 x 19 = $47,880 per month from ads.

Donations & Bits – Donations and bits are harder to calculate as we don’t have any hard numbers to go off. Unfortunately Ludwig doesn’t even have his top 10 donations visible on stream so we really don’t have much to go off.

From his level of viewership he is likely to make an extra $15,000 or more from donations each month.

Ludwigs Other Other Income Sources

How Much Does Ludwig Make On Youtube?

Ludwig primarily makes money on Youtube through Adsense revenue. According to Socialblade last month he pulled in 22 Million views. If we break this down we can get an estimate of his Youtube revenue.

Screengrab from Socialblade.com

22m views/1000 = 22,000

22,000 x $2 CPM = $44,000 Per Month from Youtube Adsense.

Ludwig is making approximately $44,000 from Youtube each month.

How Much Does Ludwig Make From Merch?

Ludwig has a shop called Ludwig.gg where he sells his own merch. For some reason he currently doesn’t promote the shop on his Twitch or Youtube channel. You can still purchase merch from the shop though and it is still getting traffic which means he’s making some money.

He is likely using a drop model where he gets massive spikes in sales in certain months and other months have much less sales.

Screengrab from Similarweb

We can see here he did a big push in March during his Subathon where he had almost 400k visitors to the site.

We will calculate his merch earnings on a yearly basis and then get a monthly average.

He likely does 2 big merch pushes every year each driving around 400,000 visitors. This gives us 800,000 visitors on site plus another 400,000 throughout the year. This means he’s getting around 1.2 million visitors per year to his site.

Most stores convert at around 2% meaning that around 2% of people on the site purchase an item meaning that 24,000 people purchase an item.

Between t-shirts, joggers and sweatshirts his average order value is likely to be around $60 potentially even more as people order multiple items. For now we will take it as $60 as an estimate.

24,000 x 60 = $1,440,000 in merch sales.

We have to remember that this is across a whole year and not all of this is profit. That gives $120,000 per month in sales and at a 25% profit margin $30,000 per month in profit.

This gives us a rough idea of how much Ludwig is making from merch however these numbers are much harder to predict than something like Twitch subs.

Ludwig makes an estimated $30,000 per month from merch.

How Much Does Ludwig Make From Brand Deals?

Ludwig currently has sponsorships from American Eagle and G Fuel. You can see he promotes them in his Twitch About Us Section.

Similar to the merch it’s hard to say how much Ludwig makes from brand deals.

He may have been paid a flat fee or he may get a % of every sale he makes.

We estimate that he is easily making an extra $30,000 per month from both of these sponsorships.

Ludwig makes an estimated $30,000 per month from brand deals.

Wrapping Up

It’s safe to say that Ludwig is making Mogul Money from streaming and creating content on Youtube. While he is making an estimated $270k per month he likely made much much more than this when he had his month long Subathon. He reached over 250k+ subs that month which is likely to put him at a million dollar month however he had a large bill that month which he paid to his Twitch mods.
