Are you streaming directly from your Playstation but your chat are unable to hear your friends/party chat? In this article we are going to show you how to enable your friends audio so that your viewers can here them. After all the back and forth between friends is sometimes the best content.

Let’s jump in and get started.

How To Allow You Friends Party Chat Audio To Be Captured

By default your stream will not be picking up your friends audio. We need to change a couple of settings to get it working.

Step 1

Click on the Party Icon in your Playstation Dashboard.

Step 2

Once in the party menu click the Options button on the right hand side of your controllers dashboard to see Party Settings. Click on Party Settings.

Step 3

In the settings menu navigate to Allow your voice to be shared and change it to “Always Allow”.

Your voice will now be heard on your friends streams. If you want their voices to be heard on your stream they will also need to change these settings. Feel free to link them to this tutorial.

How To Adjust Audio Levels For Streaming On Playstation

You may find that when you are streaming your mic might be louder than your friends or vice versa. In our settings we can adjust our mic volume to balance out the audio, giving your users a much better viewing experiencing. There is nothing worse than bad audio on a stream.

To adjust your audio levels go to Party Settings –> Adjust Microphone level.

You can then adjust your microphone level. Speak into your mic until the bar is in the “Good Range”. If its too low increase the microphone level bar. If it’s too high then decrease the microphone level bar.

Adjust Audio Mix

There is also an option to adjust audio mix which allows you to increase or decrease the volume of your Party as a whole.

Go to Party Settings –> Adjust Audio Mix.

Here you can slide the slider to the left if you want your game volume to be louder and slide to the right to make your party chat louder.

Using A Capture Card To Capture Audio

If you decide to upgrade your streaming setup and use a capture card to capture gameplay footage and stream then your viewers will automatically be able to hear your friends in your party.

As the audio will be going directly through HDMI to your capture you will be able to hear the audio by monitoring on your computer.

The Capture card that we would recommend for Playstation is the Elgato HD60S+ Capture card. This will allow you to capture game audio as well as your party chat directly in a software like OBS or Streamlabs.

Wrapping Up

You should now be able to have some really great sounding audio levels while streaming directly from your Playstation. Remember audio is one of the most important things to get right on your stream so setting this up correctly is a must and will be appreciated by your audience.
