If you play on an Ultrawide monitor or want to record videos for Tik Tok or Youtube in landscape format you will need to change your aspect ratio. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to change your aspect ratio in both OBS Studio and Streamlabs.

How To Change Your Aspect Ratio In OBS Studio

Changing your aspect ratio in OBS is a simple process. Just follow the steps below to change the aspect ratio in your scene.

  1. Open the OBS Studio application on your computer
  2. Click on the settings button in the bottom right-hand corner.
  1. In the settings menu click on Video on the left-hand side. Here you will see the option to change your “Base Canvas Resolution”. You have the ability to set this to any resolution, therefore, changing your aspect ratio.

    For example, if you want to record or stream your whole ultrawide 21:9 monitor you may change your aspect ratio to 2560×1080.
  1. Once you have typed in your aspect ratio you can click apply to save your settings. You will now see that your scene is in the aspect ratio you have chosen.

You have now successfully set your scene to your desired aspect ratio.

How To Change Your Aspect Ratio In Streamlabs

Changing your aspect ratio in Streamlabs is a similar process. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Streamlabs OBS Application on your computer
  2. Click on the settings cog in the bottom left-hand corner
  3. Navigate to the Video tab on the left-hand side
  4. In the video tab, you have a base canvas resolution setting. You can use the drop-down to select from some preset aspect ratios in Streamlabs. If you want to set a custom aspect ratio click on use custom and add your own custom aspect ratio.
  5. Change your scaled aspect ratio to the same as your base canvas resolution if your PC can handle it.
  6. Click on done and your aspect ratio will adjust to your custom aspect ratio.

You have now successfully changed your aspect ratio in Streamlabs.
