In this article I am going to break down exactly how to find someones channel on Twitch as well as some methods for finding new and interesting streamers to watch.

How To Find A Twitch Streamer On Desktop
If you have been watching someone on Youtube or TikTok and they told you their name how do you go about finding them on Twitch. Follow the steps below:
- Go to Twitch.tv
- Navigate to the search at the top centre of the screen
- Type the streamers name you want to find into the bar
- Suggestions will appear in a dropdown menu. Chances are you will find the streamer you are looking for here.
- If you don’t see the channel you are looking for click on the search icon to perform the search. You will then be shown a screen similar to below were you can find the streamer you are looking for.
That’s all there is to it. You can then click into the streamers channel and follow or subscribe to them. If they are live you can sit back, relax and enjoy their stream.
How To Find A Streamer On Twitch (Mobile)
Finding a Twitch streamer on mobile is very similar to the method on desktop.
- Open the Twitch app on your phone
- Click on the search icon in the top right corner
- Type in the name of the streamer you are searching for. You will see some auto suggestions which will likely pull up the person you are looking for.
- If it doesn’t click enter to perform the search. You will then get the results and should find the channel you are looking for here.

How To Find New Streamers To Watch
If you are just looking for some new streamers to watch there are multiple ways to find them. Unlike Youtube, where the algorithm pushes you stuff that you just want to click on, Twitch is a little different. On Twitch you will usually have to look a little harder to find a streamer that you enjoy watching. Below are a few methods to find new people to watch on Twitch.
Twitch Homepage
The main place Twitch will recommend you new streamers to watch is in the carousel on the homepage. However I find that it suggests me the same people for about a month straight. It rarely feeds me new streamers that I would like to watch.
The second part of the homepage will sometimes suggest people you may be interested in. However at the time of this screenshot, everyone in my “Live channel we think you’ll like” section are people who I already follow. Occasionally I will spot someone here who is new.
Twitch Sidebar
This is actually the place I have found the best to find new streamers that I will actually enjoy watching. This is located on the left hand side of the Twitch desktop at the bottom. Have a look here to see if you can find any streamers you might enjoy watching.
Search By Game
If you have a game you want to watch then searching by game is a good way to find someone you like. If you click on browse in the top bar on Twitch you will get a screen showing you all available categories. Categories can be games or things like IRL, Musicm Esports etc.
Click on the game you want to watch and you will be able to see everyone who is currently streaming this game. Twitch will default to sorting these streamers by “Recommended for you”. You may find someone in here that you enjoy.
You can also change your sort by to “Viewers High to Low” so you can see the most popular streamers. Or you can sort the opposite way to find new streamers.
Through a Raid
Raids on Twitch allow a streamer to direct their viewers to a new channel when they finish streaming. This can be a great way to find other content creators that are similar to the ones you already watch.
Chances are the streamer you are watching will raid someone similar to them playing the same game. I have found some of my favourite creators through this.
