Do you stream horror games, intense esports or speed runs? During these streams, things probably get a little intense. What if you could show off your heart rate during those jump scares or the last stage of an intense speed run.

Well, by following the steps we are going to lay out below you will be able to overlay your heart rate on your stream. This will give your viewers a real time reading of your current heart rate.

Let’s jump in and take a look at the different options for displaying your heart rate on stream.

Best Methods For Adding Your Heart Rate On Stream

We are going to look at a couple of different methods ranging from budget to premium. If you are only going to occasionally use this on your stream then the budget option is likely more than good enough.

  • Cardia
  • Pulsoid
  • Garmin Instinct

Cardia – Created For Gamers

Cardia is a free piece of software you can download from Github. To make Cardia work on your computer you will need a bluetooth dongle for your computer as well as a device to read your heartrate.

The software is specifically set up for gamers looking to add this sort of feature to their stream. You can add it to any streaming software such as OBS or Streamlabs by using the window capture source.

Garmin Instinct – The Premium Solution

Garmin have released a new smartwatch tailored to E-Sports professionals. The watch lets your broadcast not only your heart rate but your Stress level via their Str3amup application.

Not only does the watch let you broadcast your heart rate but it also acts as a normal smartwatch which can track your activities such as running or cycling.

This watch is definitely more expensive than the other options we have listed above. However if you plan on having a smart watch for running or cycling anyway, you may as well purchase this one which can be used for broadcasting your heartrate as well as activities.

Wrapping Up

If you are just looking to have a one off stream where you show your heart rate I would recommend going for Cardia + the Coospo Heart rate monitor as this will be your cheapest option. It will get the job done.

However if you are an esports player and want to show your heart rate on stream full time then something more premium like the Garmin Instinct is probably the way to go.

Enjoy showing off your heart rate to your viewers!
