The Stream Deck is your go-to for controlling your streams on a professional level. The easy controls and UI make it the perfect option to go for. With the addition of a mobile application, it’s only natural to set it up in order to enjoy the iconic workflow from the ease of your phone.

However, the setup requires more steps than what you might be familiar with.

Therefore, this tutorial will be focusing on how to set up Stream Deck mobile app to be used on Android and iOS. With that said, let’s jump in and get started.

How To Set Up Stream Deck Mobile App

Purchasing the Stream Deck might leave you shocked at how minimalistic the UI is. This is because all of the controls are integrated into the device itself and can be controlled through the mobile application. Therefore, our first step should be to have the Stream Deck software prepped up and ready so we can proceed with the setup.

With that being said, everything you need to know about setting up Stream Deck on your mobile application is mentioned below. Furthermore, I’ve also included pictorial references on any step that might be too confusing to understand otherwise.

Step 1 – Download The Application

You need to have the application on your mobile device before proceeding with anything else. Therefore, here are the links to download it for both Android & iOS:

Simply click on the mentioned links and press the Install button. Once the application has been downloaded, open it and move to the next step.

Step 2 –  Select a Subscription Plan

Once you open the application, Stream Deck will display the following prompt while asking you to purchase a subscription. If you’re already on an active subscription then you can skip this step. For others, it’s worth noting that the first month will be trial-based.

Therefore, you won’t be charged if you cancel the subscription within the specified period. However, adding a payment method is necessary to initiate the trial period.

Step 3 – Assign The Necessary Permissions

The Stream Deck mobile will ask you to assign related permissions in order to function. The application will only ask for camera-related permissions for the final step. Therefore, tap on the accept button and proceed.

Step 4 – Scan The QR Code

You will need to scan the QR code displayed on your Stream Deck in order to sync it up with the mobile application. With that said, here are the steps you need to perform in order to find the QR code on your Stream Deck Software:

  1. Open the application and click on the drop-down menu in the Device tab.
  2. From there, click on Add Mobile Device and wait for the QR code to pop up.

Once done, use the QR code scanner in the Stream Deck mobile to scan the code. A pairing process will start. It’ll sync up all the settings from the software to the mobile application. Once done, you can start using the mobile application to control your Stream Deck as intended.

Is Stream Deck Mobile Free?

Unfortunately, the Stream Deck mobile application works on a subscription-based model. While the cost is not that high, you will be expected to pay at the end of every month. Therefore, a longer period of use might entail higher-than-expected costs.

That being said, your first month will be the trial period, thus you won’t be charged for it. After that, you can decide to go for a yearly or monthly payment cycle. It’s entirely dependent on your preferences and can be canceled if needed.

Is Stream Deck Mobile Good?

Yes, other than purchasing the Stream Deck, it’s the second-best choice you can make. The UI is simple to understand and the settings can be directly integrated from the PC software. Therefore, if you don’t might the slight subscription fee, then it is your go-to for everything streaming-related.

In spite of this, you will have to miss out on tactile buttons. While it might not seem that important, having to physically see the buttons before pressing them through muscle memory is a taxing chore if done repeatedly.

Furthermore, the performance of the application is entirely dependent on your mobile phone. For example, the UI might be laggy on an old-gen iPhone 5, while it will run as smoothly as the wind on a flagship. Therefore, you might want to upgrade your old mobile for a smoother experience.

Wrapping Up

All in all, you can now set up the Stream Deck mobile application without any worries. You will be amazed by how well a few nifty shortcuts boost your streaming performance. Furthermore, the application is known to work rather flawlessly.
