How To Fix ‘Unexpected Server Error’
The main reason people are facing this error is overloaded servers. Overwatch is beloved by many and this is a huge launch. We have to expect some errors and load times to get in. To get into the game try changing your server region.
Ultimately the best solution is to wait it out until the servers stabilize. However, you may want to try some of the fixes below to get in.
Join International Servers
Many people are able to get into the game by switching their servers. If you are in the United States we would recommend switching to Asia servers. Follow the steps below to switch regions.
- Open Battle.net
- Navigate to Overwatch 2
- Go to the bottom left-hand corner and click on the world icon
- Select Asia or Europe as your server
You should now be able to boot up the game and get into the servers.
Other Fix Options
If you are still unable to get into the game you have a few other options.
- Check your internet connection is stable
- Scan and Repair game files in Battle.net
- Verify Overwatch 2 is up to date
- Disable any VPNs
- Uninstall and re-install Overwatch 2
