Who is Stewie2k?
Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip was born and raised in San Francisco, California, where he learned Counter-Strike 1.6 from his brother, Jason. He describes his parents as typical Asian parents who don’t like video games and said that his parents would often tell him that he should study a common career such as a doctor or lawyer. His fascination with gaming eventually led to a rift between him and his family, as his mother thought he would fail. At the age of 17, he moved to LA to pursue his passion for gaming.
Stewie2k is now a professional player in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive who plays for Evil Geniuses. He became the first North American, along with his teammates, to win a major tournament sponsored by Valve in CS: GO.
He joined Cloud9 in 2016 as their rifler. He then started playing for Team Liquid in 2018. As a leader and an entry fragger for Evil Geniuses, he is regarded as one of the best players in CS: GO. This is why it was no surprise that he would excel at Riot Games’ FPS, Valorant, when it was released. Despite being an active professional in CS: GO, he still occasionally streams valorant gameplay to his followers.
