Who Is NiceWigg

Jack “NiceWigg” Martin is a professional Apex Legends player and streamer for 100Thieves. He is occasionally tapped as a caster for the Apex Legends Global Series official B-Stream.

NiceWigg rose to popularity after Dizzy – one of the best Apex Legends players at that time – hosted him on Twitch. The two played together by chance and Dizzy partied with Wigg to try a new Gibraltar trick. Then, Dizzy learned of Wigg using a controller on a PC. Thousands of Dizzy’s followers gave NiceWigg a Twitch follow. Some even subbed and the rest is history.

Jack also takes pride in becoming the first Apex Legends controller player to be signed professionally by a Tier 1 organization. He was part of Counter Logic Gaming’s Apex Legends roster from 2019 – 2020.

Right now, NiceWigg competes in ALGS tournaments with Team Sheeesh alongside iiTzTimmy, and Apryze.

NiceWigg loves anime and he started out streaming wearing the wig of Son Goku from Dragonball.

Besides his 603,000 followers on Twitch, NiceWigg also has 111,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel where he uploads his gameplay and tutorials.

NiceWigg Apex Legends Button Layout

NiceWigg is using the Button Puncher controller layout in Apex Legends. Here are his settings.

NiceWigg Button Layout

NiceWigg highlighted that if you are not using paddles or you use a regular grip then you should not go for the Default button layout. It would hurt your gameplay because of the button positions.

The Button Jumper has the same issue as the Default button layout.

If you are not using a Claw grip or paddles, then the Button Puncher layout is possibly the sweet spot. You can easily spam crouch without taking your thumb off the sticks.

Movement or Aiming Settings

Look Sensitivity
Super High (6)
NiceWigg says that these settings help in moving freely and get good movement in-game.

Look Sensitivity (ADS)
High (4)
This is a balanced setting that is great for tracking and close-quarter fights.

Pre Optic ADS Settings
Off
It is set to default because this is how he is used to – with 4 ADS settings.

Response Curve
Classic
Classic feels clean and he has been playing with Classic since the start of Apex.

Look Deadzone
Small
Going all the way up makes your aim harder.

NiceWigg Advanced Look Controls (ALC) Settings

NiceWigg mentioned that he has touched his ALC settings based on the settings of Pandxrz – another cracked Apex Legends controller player. He has it turned off at the moment.

However, he mentioned that ALC takes a lot of time to master and it is one of the settings that are truly personal. In his case, he would probably take at least three months to get his ALC settings right and for some, six months or more.

NiceWigg also said that even Pandxrz adjusts his settings from time to time so there really are no permanent ALC settings.

Now, who is the Advanced Look Controls settings adjustment for?

If you want to master the craft of using the controller on Apex Legends then go ahead and push through with playing around with the ALC as it provides precise control over what you want to do.

However, there is a downside to using the ALC and it is somehow mental.

Using ALC might make you think that you are not doing better once you change one setting. A couple of days later and if you are not getting your results then you might change that setting again which delays progress.

Mentally, it would feel like someone is whispering “change your ALC” for every disappointing game. It messes with your mind so set it off at is the best way forward. Unless, as mentioned earlier, it will be a long-time commitment.
