Can I Change The Background On PS5?
In short, no. Currently there is no way to change the background on your PS5 dashboard. When you are on the PS5 dashboard the background changes depending on the game you are hovering over. The background is dynamic.
If you do a search on youtube for “How to Change You Background on PS5” you will find multiple results claiming that you can change the theme. I watched a few of these only to sit through 10 min videos and be told at the end, you can’t actually change it. We thought we would put this article together, so you can get a much quicker answer.
Will We Ever Be Able Change The Background On PS5?
Playstation stated that you will not be able to customise the background of the Playstation at launch. The fact the said “At launch” would lead us to believe that this feature will be added at some stage down the line.
The fact that the feature was available on Playstation 4 means that they aren’t apposed to users customizing their console. Hopefully in the future we will see more customization options on the Playstation 5.
