If you spend a lot of time on Twitch you have probably noticed they try to recommend you a lot of channels. Either on the Twitch home screen or your sidebar. Sometimes these recommendations are great and you find someone you want to watch. Other times you may never want to see the streamer again.
In this article, I am going to show you how to remove streamers from recommended on Twitch. Let’s jump in and get started.
What Is The Twitch Recommended Section
The Twitch recommended section is on the home screen and the left sidebar is on Twitch. This feature is meant to showcase new streamers that Twitch thinks you will like. While I have found a couple of streamers that I like to watch through this feature, it can sometimes recommend people that I have absolutely no interest in.
I have noticed that if you watch someone regularly without following them, they will appear in your recommended section. Now, let’s see how you can remove the ones you don’t want to see from your recommended section.
How To Remove A Streamer From Recommended Channels On Twitch
To remove a channel from your recommended section on Twitch follow the steps below:
- Go to Twitch.tv and navigate to the homepage. You can do this by clicking on the Twitch icon in the top left-hand corner.
- On the home page below the carousel you will see “Live channels we think you’ll like”. You will also see the Recommended channels in the left sidebar.
If you scroll on down the page you will see other sections such as Recommended Just Chatting channels, Recommended Minecraft channels etc. If someone is being recommended in your left sidebar they will also be in one of these sections on the homepage.
- Find the streamer in one of these sections and click the 3 dots to the right of their name and click not interested from the dropdown section.
- Refresh the page and this streamer should now be removed from your recommendations.
They won’t appear in your recommendations anymore.
Unfortunately, there is no way to remove some directly from the sidebar panel. If you don’t want them to be recommended you have to find them on the homepage and select not interested.
Even if you go directly to their channel there is no option on the channel to stop them from being recommended.
Hopefully, removing people you don’t like from your recommendations and letting people you do like stay, will train the algorithm to send you more streamers you like over time.
Can I Stop A Streamer Appearing In The Twitch Homepage Carousel
Do you ever notice that when you go onto the Twitch homepage there is always the same person in the carousel? For me, it is always CompleteditMate. For months on end, he has been recommended to me in the homepage carousel.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any way to stop these streamers from appearing. There is no way to mark them as not interested currently.
Show Less Recommendations
If you want to see less recommendations in your Twitch sidebar you can click on the see less button.
This will show you about 5 streamers instead of 10.
