Can you Airplay From iPhone to TV? Yes, the Twitch app makes it really easy to Airplay from your iPhone to an airplay compatible device, allowing you to watch your favourite streamer on a large screen TV. Follow the steps below to get it up and running.
How To Airplay Twitch On iPhone
Airplay on your iPhone is really easy to use. Just follow the steps below to Airplay your phone to any compatible Airplay device. There is two methods that you can use to Airplay.
Method 1 – Airplay
- Make sure that your phone is connected to the same network as your airplay enabled device. This is how the video gets sent between your phone and device.
- Open Twitch on your iPhone and go to the stream you want to watch. Click play on the stream. Swipe down from the right hand corner to open the control centre on your phone.
- In the top right you will see a widget showing the video you are currently playing. Click on the little wave icon to show your Airplay devices. I have highlighted the wave icon below. When you click the wave icon you will be able to select the device you want to stream to.
4. Make sure that your device is turned on and select it from this drop down. You will now be able to enjoy twitch in full screen on your device or TV.
This method is much better than the one below as you are able to exit out of the Twitch app and still watch the stream on your Airplay enabled device.
Method 2 – Screen Sharing
This method will work with Twitch but may also be handy if you ever want to stream a different app to your airplay compatible device.
- Make sure that your phone and the device that you are trying to Airplay to are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. This is how the data gets sent between the devices.
- Open Twitch on your iPhone and select the stream you want to watch. Swipe down from the top right hand corner to bring up your phone settings.
- In the settings section click on the screen sharing button highlighted below. You will then see any airplay compatible devices that are on your network
- Ensure that the device you want to airplay with is turned on and select it from the list.
- Your compatible device will now be showing the Twitch stream. On your phone you will now see a little audio wave instead of the video itself.
It’s as simple as that to Airplay from you iPhone to an Airplay compatible device.
Other Ways To Watch Twitch On TV
If you do not have the ability to airplay to your TV don’t worry there are other ways to watch Twitch on your TV. If you have a Smart TV chances are it will have the Twitch TV app available on their app store. This is actually the best option to give you a great viewing experience on Twitch.
If the app is not on your Smart TV you will be able to find the app on an Xbox, Playstation, Fire TV stick or even a chrome cast.
