Have you added your webcam or camera to Streamlabs or OBS and something just looks off! Eventually you probably realised that it is mirrored. Maybe the writing on your T-shirt was backwards. Sometimes with webcams and phones your camera will appear flipped. Let’s take a look at how you can quickly fix it in Streamlabs and OBS.

How To Flip Your Camera In Streamlabs OBS

Step 1: Open Streamlabs & Identify Your Webcam

Open up Streamlabs and make sure that your camera is visible on the screen.

You then want to click on your camera source. Mine is called ‘Video Capture Device’.

Step 2: Flip Your Webcam Horizontally

To flip your camera horizontally you want to right click on your camera source navigate to Transform –> Flip Horizontal.

Your camera will then be mirrored in the opposite direction like below.

Now you should be able to adjust your webcam in Streamlabs to get it the angle that you want.

Which Way Is The Correct Way To Display My Camera?

This really is a personal preference. If you feel more comfortable looking at yourself in a mirrored view on screen then I would recommend going with that option. However most streamers use the ‘unflipped’ version as this feels more natural to the viewers.

Another consideration to take into account is if you have any posters or writing in your backdrop or even on your t-shirt this will also be mirrored and won’t be easily read by your viewers. If that’s the case definitely go with the ‘unflipped’ option.
