Netflix just announced their brand new Hey Netflix bot in Discord which allows you to watch your favorite TV Programs and Movies with your friends or community. You can now all be watching the same movie at the same time and discuss what’s happening in your Discord call, just like you would in person.
While the Discord bot does not actually stream the movies directly in Discord the bot allows friends to watch the Movies on their Netflix accounts at the same time while also helping users to vote on and decide what to watch. It’s very similar to the Twitch Watch Party feature with Amazon Prime.

What Is The Netflix Discord Bot
The Netflix Discord bot allows users in Discord to Vote on whether or not they should watch a TV Program or Movie, the bot will then ask users what country they are from so it can select something available for everyone. The bot will recommend 4 Series or Movies to choose from. Users can then vote on what to watch and get directed to the movie on the Netflix web browser.
How To Install Netflix Discord Bot On Your Server
To set up the Netflix bot on your own Discord server follow the steps below:
- Open Discord and right click on your Discord Server Icon
- Select Server Settings –> App Directory
- In the app directory, search for Netflix. Here you will see an app called “Hey Netflix”.
- Click on it and select add to server
- Select the server you want to install the bot on from the drop-down. Click on continue
- Authorize the bot for all of the permissions it is requesting

- Type /heynetflix in one of your Discord channels
- The bot will ask people in the channel to vote on a movie or tv series

- Once you click on “We’re Ready” the bot will suggest four movies or series to vote on. Everyone on the channel can vote on what they want to watch.
- Once you have voted on what to watch a button will appear to watch on Netflix. Everyone can select this at the same time and enjoy the program together.
If the selection of movies or series isn’t anything that peaks your interest, you can select refine options, allowing you to view more options.

Can You Use The Netflix Discord Bot Without A Subscription
No, everyone who wants to watch the program will have to have their own Netflix Subscription. You don’t actually watch the Movie or TV show through the bot. It links everyone to the same movie at the same time, so you can all watch along together.
