Valorant, the famous tactical shooter game from Riot, has been the talk of the town ever since it was released in mid-2020. Is Valorant Available On Steam?
No, Valorant is not available on Steam. Since PC gamers are quite familiar with Valve’s Steam software hosting a plethora of games, it is only natural to assume that new and popular shooters like Valorant will certainly be available there. However, Riot had other plans.
Riot Games are run on its very own game launcher client that allows you to access all their famous titles such as League of Legends and Valorant at one stop. Since these titles are extremely popular and have a massive fanbase, the Riot Client has managed to fully sustain itself, eliminating the need to rely on other platforms.
Will Valorant Ever Come On Steam?
For now, there’s no such indication from the developers at Riot to collaborate with other gaming storefronts like Steam. With other games from Riot like League of Legends and Legends of Runeterra following the same trajectory, it’s fair to say Riot isn’t ready to share their success with another platform just yet.

Due to the collaboration between Epic and Riot Games, Valorant and other original titles from Riot are all available to download and play on Epic Games Launcher. Downloading the game from the Epic Launcher will also download the Riot Client with direct access to the title.
Unfortunately, the collaboration has significantly decreased the chances of Valorant ever coming to Steam since the storefront is a direct competitor to Epic Games.
Where Can You Download Valorant?
Valorant is available to download in all regions on Epic Games or Riot Games. Here is how you can get this widely popular tactical shooter downloaded and set up on your gaming rig:
Method 1: Riot Games
Follow the steps below to download Valorant through Riot’s official website:
- Head on over to Riot’s website
- Click on “Play Free”
- You’ll be prompted to “SIGN IN” to your existing Riot account. If you don’t have a Riot account, you should click on “MAKE ONE” to create your account first
- Next, Click on “Download” to start downloading the game. Don’t worry, the Riot Client or Riot Game Launcher will automatically download and install itself during the process.
- Once the download is complete, launch the Riot Client to start the installation and login with our Riot account
- Lastly, when the game is fully installed, restart your computer to enable Vanguard, the anti-cheat software for Valorant, before you start playing
Method 2: Epic Games Launcher
If you’re an Epic user, you can use the Epic Game Store Launcher to download Valorant and the Riot Client:
- Download and Install the Epic Games Launcher and log in with your account.
- Next, search for “VALORANT” in the search box above
- Click on “Get” and proceed to confirm the order by clicking “Place Order”
- Go to your “Library” and click on “VALORANT” to start the download and installation of the game
