Do you prefer to receive bits rather than standard donations on your Twitch streams? Maybe you don’t want to setup a Paypal account and want to receive all donations directly through Twitch. If that’s the case you probably want to add a Bit Goal overlay to your stream.

Adding a bit goal to your stream will help in building up momentum in your bit donations. The closer you get to that goal the more likely viewers are to donate and push you over the target.

In this article we are going to how to add a bit goal overlay to your stream using both Streamlabs and OBS. Let’s jump in.

How To Setup A Bit Goal Overlay Using Streamlabs OBS

Luckily Streamlabs has a Bit Donation goal built in which makes this process really easy.

Step 1 – Add Bit Goal Source

Go down to the sources section in Streamlabs and select the + to add a new source.

Go to the widgets section and select Bit goal –> Add Source.

You will then be asked to give your Bit goal a name. You can call this “Bit Goal” for now.

Once you have given your bit goal a name we can then adjust how it looks and start dialling in the specifics of our new bit goal.

Step 2 – Define Your Bit Goal

Now we need to define our bit goal by giving it a title and setting the goal we want to reach with our followers. We need to cover Title, Goal Amount, Starting Amount and Goal End.

Title

This is the Title that will appear in your Bit Goal Box.

Goal Amount

This is the target amount of Bits you want to reach.

Starting Amount

This is how many Bits you currently have. Your Bit counter will count up from this number for every follow you get.

End After

This is how many days from today you want the Bit goal to end.

Step 3 – Set Your Visual Settings

In visual settings you have 2 options, standard and condensed. This is really up to you but personally I prefer the condensed version as it looks much more clean and doesn’t cover up the game while I am streaming.

In this section you can also change the colors and fonts of your goal counter. Change this to match your streams branding.

How To Setup Bit Goals Using OBS

Setting up Bit Goals in OBS Studio is slightly different than in Streamlabs. To install a Bit goal widget on OBS you will want to set up a Streamlabs.com account.

You will then be able to access the Streamlabs dashboard in your browser where you can set up your Bit goal.

Step 1 – Create A Bit Goal Widget

Go to your Dashboard –> All Widgets –> Bit Goal

Select Bit Goal and here we can create a bit goal similar to how we created them in Streamlabs.

Step 2 – Set Up Your Bit Goal

You will now be able to enter the information for your goal such as Title, Goal Amount, Starting Amount and End Date.

You can also go to the settings section to change colors and fonts of your bit goal overlay.

Step 3 – Add Your Bit Goal Link To OBS Studio

Once you have designed your bit goal we need to get this into OBS.

In your Bit Goal section on streamlabs.com there will be a Widget URL. Click on ‘Copy’ to copy this URL.

Now open up OBS studio and add a new source. Select browser source and in the URL section paste the Bit goal link we got from Streamlabs.com. Your bit goal counter will now appear in OBS and you can position it where you want in your scene.

Now you have your bit goal counter on your stream ready to help you start picking up more bits on stream. Good luck!

These Follower Goals Look Bad?

Let’s not lie these basic Bit Goal counters from Streamlabs don’t look all that exciting and probably don’t fit in well with your branding. They’re okay to get started with but eventually you will want to upgrade to something more in line with your brand.
